Technical passport of the device (D form) is a document containing information certifying the manufacturer's guarantees, the values of the main parameters and characteristics (properties) of the product, as well as information on certification and disposal of the product. This document reflects the technical condition of the product after manufacture, during operation and after repair.

Why is necessary a technical passport of the device

A technical passport of the devices is an extremely important document, especially for devices used at a hazardous production facility. The passport accompanies the device throughout the entire period of its operation, it contains detailed information on the device, as well as all additional information that appears during the operation of the device.

Technical passports of the device are the documental basis of industrial safety at an enterprise. When the equipment comes from the factory, the passport reflects the current state of the device. Then there should be installation, adjustment, commissioning, start-up. And at these stages additional information about the device, which is necessary during operation, may appear.

Then, reconstruction, modernization, repair work, replacement of parts, and welding work are carried out during the operation of the device in addition to planned work. All data on the work is entered into the passport and, if necessary, specialists study the passport, as it reflects the current state of the structures. The passport also indicates the features of this technical device and the optimal operating modes, which may differ from the factory ones.

To summarize: a passport is necessary so that information about the device is always at hand.
