Experts at Azerbaijan State Scientific-Research Institute of Labour Protection and Safety Engineering at the State Agency for Safe Working in Industry and Mountain-Mining Control continue taking focused and consistent efforts in boosting control efficiency at industrial facilities, forecasting hazardous situations, taking preventive measures and increasing the expertise of staff working in potentially hazardous facilities, as well as other areas of industry.

Media representatives have visited the scientific-research institute the service production area at the institute to get familiar with the measures taken in this direction, as well as experience the new technologies at work.

They have also been introduced to the educational activities of the institute during the press tour. They got to see the photo-stand dedicated to life and work of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the administrative building, which hosts the brand new training rooms, equipped with the latest equipment after high-quality repair works. The training classrooms are equipped with computers, boards, projectors, and monitors that meet modern requirements, as well as local and internet networks. All conditions have been created to accommodate and teach 90 people at the same time. The exam room is equipped with computers, which allows 15 people to take exams simultaneous through special software.

Vugar Khalilov, head of department, and Etibar Yusifli, head of laboratory at the scientific-research institute told the media representatives about the functions of the institute and that the main objective of the institute is to ensure mining safety and collect and analyse data on safety.

The head of department also spoke of the recent achievements and told the journalists that the institute has been awarded ‘ISO 9001 Quality Management System’, ‘ISO 14001 Environmental Management System’, and ‘ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System’ international certificates, and also been accredited according to the standard of ‘AZS ISO 17020:2021 Conformity assessment. Requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies’.

The journalists then watched a film on the activities of the agency and the institute. The press tour finished with a Q&A session with the media representatives.
