Azerbaijan State Scientific-Research Institute of Labour Protection and Safety Engineering at the State Agency for Safe Working in Industry and Mountain-Mining Control under the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AzDƏMTTETİ) and the Azerbaijan Office of ‘TWI Technology and Training Centre’ (TWI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
TWI is one of the world’s foremost research and technology organizations. Established in 1946 in Cambridge, UK, the company offers services in all areas of industry, such as oil-gas, aerospace, construction, transportation, medical equipment, etc. Leaning on international experience of 80 years, the organization specializes in Destructive and Non-Destructive testing, Welding Technology, Certification, Welding Engineering, Nonconformity Inspection, Pipeline Inspection (AG/UG), Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Fitness for Service (FFS), Asset Integrity (Asset Integrity Management), obsolescence inspection, engineering software, etc. At the same time, the Training and Certification Centre provides opportunities for local specialists to improve their skills according to modern requirements.
The main objective of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between AzDƏMTTETİ and TWI is to build sustainable cooperation between the two institutions on providing scientific-technical, methodical service and preparing technical normative legal acts and other documents on ensuring technical safety and labour protection in industries and mining.
TWI will assist AzDƏMTTETİ in putting together joint programs on the Institute’s main line of activities, in international support programs, as well as in ensuring the implementation of calls for cooperation with international organizations. Moreover, the two institutions will mutually exchange experience through organizing joint conferences and seminars, providing training and mentoring support for personnel, which can contribute to the development of cooperation.
