World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day

On December 16, 1991, the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Heydar Aliyev taking into consideration the importance of solidarity of Azerbaijanis, declared the 31st of December as the day of Solidarity of the World Azerbaijanis.
Today, the holiday plays an important role in establishing relations with more than 50 million Azerbaijanis living in more than 70 countries of the world, creating unity and solidarity among them. Solidarity Day is also celebrated by representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, who were not Azerbaijanis by nationality, but were born and grown up in Azerbaijan.
